Award ceremony of the Galatée Prize in Paris for the book “Besieged

Deeply moved to share that our book about the October 7th “Migunit” has received a literary prize in France.

“Les Assiégés” (Besieged/לכודים) – the harrowing account of the heroism that took place in what came to be known as the “Shelter of Death” – was published simultaneously in Israel (by Yedioth Sfarim) and in France, by Cherche midi, where it received a remarkable welcome.

The book was awarded the 2025 Galatée Prize, presented at a moving ceremony in Paris. The jury unanimously praised the book as “gripping, and an extraordinary depiction of a devastating human tragedy.”

My deepest thanks to my co-author, Hervé Deguine, to our French publishing house, to the award jury, and above all to the survivors of the Migunit and the grieving families who entrusted us with their stories.

And above all – a prayer, a cry: for the release of Alon Ohel, the last remaining hostage from the Migunit still in captivity, and for all the hostages.
